Tincknell Tops Sunday Morning Session at Roar

Harry Tincknell was the fastest in the Sunday morning IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship session at the Roar Before the 24 in the final session before Roar qualifying.
Tincknell’s time of 1:34.224 is the fastest of the Roar so far and was 0.392 seconds faster than his teammate Oliver Jarvis in second place.
Eric Curran in the No. 31 Whelen Engineering Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R was third, followed by Filipe Albuquerque and Jordan Taylor for Mustang Sampling AXR and Konica Minolta Wayne Taylor Racing, respectively.
Ben Hanley narrowly edged Gabriel Aubrey for LMP2 class honors, putting the No. 18 DragonSpeed Oreca 07 Gibson ahead of No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen car by 0.190 seconds.
Ford Chip Ganassi Racing had both of its cars in the top three, led by the No. 67 Ford GT of Ryan Briscoe. Joey Hand was third in the No. 66 car, with the No. 3 Corvette Racing Chevrolet Corvette C7.R of Jan Magnussen sandwiched in between.
GT Daytona teams have already left Daytona International Speedway with a truncated two-day testing program implemented by IMSA for the class this year.
The Roar qualifying sessions to determine pit stall and garage assignments are up next immediately after the checkered flag came out for this session, beginning with the GTLM class competitors.
